In addition to advocacy, the goal of the Materials Engineering guild is to connect students in our field with their future employers. For this reason, we strive to work closely with companies in the materials engineering sector and are constantly looking for new partners. In addition to offering visibility, we provide companies with excellent opportunities to make initial contact with future professionals through events like fairs or company visits.
Overall advertisements
Every year, our new students acquire student overalls, which they wear during various events throughout their academic years. Advertisements from companies are collected on these overalls each year, with the proceeds from the sales covering the cost of the overalls. The overall advertisement is an excellent way to leave a positive impression on freshmen and gain visibility within the entire student community.
Anniversary celebration
The Materials Engineering Guild was founded on April 1st, 1993. The anniversary celebrations are held annually. For companies, the anniversary event is an excellent opportunity to gain visibility both during the event and on our social media channels, as the celebrations are attended by hundreds of people, most of whom are students and alumnis in materials science and other engineering fields. The anniversary event includes a cocktail reception for invited guests, a prestigious main celebration, and an after-party. The following day, the celebration continues in a more relaxed manner with a traditional student brunch.
Excursions
The Materials Engineering Guild arranges trips for its members around Finland approximately twice a year to visit companies in our field. The guild also organizes an international excursion once every two years. During these company visits, you will have the opportunity to showcase your company face-to-face and engage in personal discussions with both new and former students.
Rekrylab
Rekrylab is a fair event organized by several student organizations at the Hervanta campus of Tampere University. The event is an excellent opportunity to recruit top summer employees on the spot and get to know students from beyond our own guild. The event is co-organized by the student organizations from technical sciences, materials engineering, environmental and energy technology, electrical engineering, as well as biotechnology and biomedical engineering.
